Dwello ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal home management app that helps you track appliances, maintenance, spending, and home information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Dwello mobile application.

By using Dwello, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information (name, email address)
• Home details (address, square footage, year built, home value)
• Appliance inventory (make, model, purchase date, warranty info)
• Maintenance records and task history
• Spending records and home expense data
• Contractor contact information
• Any documents or photos you upload

Information collected automatically:

• App usage data (screens viewed, features used, session duration)
• Device type and operating system version
• Crash reports and error logs
• Push notification preferences

Information we do not collect:

• Precise real-time location (ZIP code only, for climate-aware reminders)
• Contacts from your phone
• Biometric data
• Payment card numbers

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Dwello app
• Generate personalized maintenance reminders and alerts
• Power the AI Advisor feature (your home data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses)
• Send push notifications for reminders you've enabled
• Generate your Home Passport and spending reports
• Diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
• Understand how features are used to improve the product

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party companies that help us operate Dwello (listed in Section 4), bound by confidentiality agreements
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
• Business transfers: If Dwello is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy protections
• With your consent: Any other sharing will only happen with your explicit permission

4. Third-party services

Dwello uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase: Database and file storage. Your home data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. Privacy Policy
• Anthropic Claude API: Powers the AI Advisor feature. Privacy Policy
• Sentry: Crash reporting and error monitoring. Used to diagnose bugs; no personal home data is included in crash reports. Privacy Policy
• PostHog: Product analytics. We collect anonymized usage events (e.g. features used, screens viewed) to understand how the app is used and improve it. No home data or personally identifiable content is sent. Privacy Policy
• Expo / EAS: App build and delivery infrastructure. Privacy Policy
• Apple: Push notifications delivered via Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

5. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on Supabase's servers, which use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). Access to your data is protected by row-level security policies, so only you can access your own home data.

We use reasonable and appropriate technical measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Anonymized, aggregated data (such as app usage statistics with no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely to improve the product.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information directly in the app
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability: Request an export of your home data
• Opt out: Disable push notifications at any time in your device settings

8. Children's privacy

Dwello is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via a push notification or in-app notice. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of Dwello after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
